Romeo and Juliet Bauhaus Poster

I was tasked with making a poster for the play Romeo and Juliet in any art style of my choice. I was inspired by the Bauhaus art style because I like how simple, universal shapes can be used to build clever elements that relate to the meaning of the play. I wanted to include a lot of hidden symbols–a sword, shield, heart, etc.–lots of right angles and symmetry, and stuck with the primary color contrast of red and blue, colors which are used to symbolize the rival Montague and Capulet families in Romeo and Juliet.
